basic user friendly 'professional' camera?

Post by RahimBhai on Sun Apr 04, 2010 12:22 pm

hey guys, im looking for a camera that takes good pictures as im really into photography (incl. fashion) and i really have no idea what type to get.

ive always owned normal digital cameras and those just don't cut it for me. i want better quality pictures so i won't have to spend tons of time editing. so i was wondering what type of camera i should get. people i know have chunky black ones (SLR cameras, i think) and the pics look way better.

can people please explain to me the difference between DSLR and SLR cameras, what are they etc. and please dont say that one's digital and one isn't because that's not gonna help.
also, what should i get?! doesnt need to be specific on which exact camera, but the type please.

PS. im not a very tech kinda person so i need a user friendly one. basically, a cheap basic camera that takes semi professional pictures is what im looking for.

PPS. ive been looking at NIKON COOLPIX range particulary L110 and i know its not slr/dslr but would it take the sort of pictures that are 'magazine' material?
